Notice of Extension of Nomination Period for City Council Candidates

NOTICE OF EXTENSION OF NOMINATION PERIOD 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nomination Period for non-incumbent candidates for seats in the City of Sebastopol City Council for the General Municipal Election on November 5, 2024 has been extended five days pursuant to Elections Code Section 10225. 

Interested residents must file nomination papers for the General Municipal Election by the new deadline, August 14, 2024 during normal business hours (7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.). The filing period was extended beyond the initial August 9, 2024 deadline because Incumbent Diana Rich did not file nomination papers. The filing period for incumbents is now closed. 

Any City of Sebastopol resident age 18 or older who is eligible to hold office and who is registered to vote at the time nomination papers are issued can file nomination papers. 

AN APPOINTMENT IS REQUIRED TO PULL PAPERWORK AND FILE PAPERWORK. To obtain and file nomination papers, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at (707) 823-1153 during office hours or (707) 292-7910 (City Clerk Cell) or via email at mgourley@cityofsebastopol.gov.
