Design Review Board
The Design Review Board/Tree Board (also known as the DRB) meets the fourth Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. The DRB is appointed by the City Council. The DRB reviews a wide range of development projects to ensure a high quality of design in Sebastopol. The DRB also reviews sign applications and landscaping and lighting as it relates to building development.
The DRB also serves as the City’s Tree Board, and regulates tree removals on commercial and multi-family properties as requried by Section 8.12 of the Municipal Code.
The Design Review Board is established in Section 2.32 of the Sebastopol Municipal Code; it consists of five members with the following professional backgrounds.
- Two persons, at least one of whom is a licensed architect and one of whom is a licensed landscape architect
- One person who may be any of the following: architect, landscape architect, building designer, building contractor, landscape contractor
- Two persons not in the prior two sections
- One alternate
